Manuel Pellegrini has vowed to bring the Premier League title back to Manchester City next season after they relinquished their crown to Chelsea.
City won a Premier League and League Cup double in Pellegrini s maiden campaign in 2013-14, but it was Chelsea s turn to achieve the same feat under Jose Mourinho this term.
The Chilean is expected to stay on next season, but reports in the press suggest City are hoping to tempt Pep Guardiola to the Etihad Stadium at the end of his Bayern Munich contract.
Pellegrini is planning to do all he can to stay at the Etihad, starting with bringing the title back to Manchester.
I am sure we are going to return stronger next season and that we are going to recover the title for the Etihad, he told the Manchester Evening News.
The same way that our stadium is growing with the new stand, I think the club completely will grow. There are a lot of important things in our project that we must try to improve every year.
I always have communication every week with the owners. I know exactly what they think they know what I think also.
Every day, we are talking also with [technical director] Txiki Begiristain and [chief executive] Ferran Soriano so we will see which is the best way to try to improve our squad and try to recover the title.
I think every team needs change every year. Maybe I would tell you exactly the same if we won the title again.
That we must make some changes, that we will see which are the players that must go and which players will come.
